Welcome back to our second week of digging into building our first Node.js application. Last week, we created the skeleton of our application and showed how routes interact with our controller methods. As I said in the first video, I will continue to drive home this idea of MVC. In doing so, this video focuses on the M, or Model, of this design pattern. We discuss how to build our data model, or schema, using Mongoose.js. And, because we will be using a MongoDB to store our data I show how to set up hosting through mLab and download MongoDB Compass so that we have a way to view our data. I hope that you learn a lot from this video, and I will see you here next week where we will begin to talk about the Views of our application.
